Fruit description: Want a fruit that is big and has a real fruity aroma and flavor ? Its Araca Boi, the fruit are large, 10 to 14cm across in diameter, with a thin velvety yellow skin when ripe. They have a very fruity aromatic whitish-yellow flesh and oblong seeds.
Flowers: The flowers of the Araca Boi appear along all the new branches, and are small and white, each with 5 petals. The plant flowers all year round.
Growing conditions: Araca Boi are a very compact bush with branches low to the ground. They are quite cold hardy and are evergreen
Uses: The fruit of Araca Boi have a very distinct aromatic flavour. The edible portion is the white pulp, which has an acidic taste. It is a rich source of vitamin C. Araca Boi fruits can be eaten fresh, but the preferred use is to make a really delicious sorbet. Araca Boi are also used to make juice, ice-cream, jellies, preserves, and jams.
Medicinal uses: Araca Boi fruit are very high in Vitamin C.

Harvest time The plant starts to fruit after 2 years of planting. The Harvest season is all year, as the plants often have ripe fruit, half developed fruits, and new flowers all at the same time. Araca Boi fruits may be picked when they begin to turn yellow, as they continue to mature after picking. The Fruits are soft to touch when ripe.
