Fruit description: Do you like sweet creamy lemon jelly ? That’s the flavor and texture of Rollinia fruit. Quite often people say it’s the best fruit they have tasted. Rollinia fruit is usually eaten fresh which shows how nice they are by themselves. Rollinias have a thick yellow skin when they are ripe and when cut in half, the pulp is clear and like a creamy jelly, with seeds through it. The flavor is quite subtle, with a mild hint of lemon, and an agreeable sweetness. The fruit size is from 10 to 18cm in diameter, and up to 1kg in weight. The Forbidden Fruits Nursery Variety of Rollinia has a smooth skin with very few spines, and has a delicious flavour.
Flowers: The flowers of the Rollinia appear in spring and summer, along with the new season’s growth.
Growing conditions: The Rollinia is a fast growing, upright tree, which is semi-deciduous, dropping its leaves and bursting into new growth in late winter. They are more hardy in moist to wet soils than their relatives the Custard Apple and Cherimoya.
Uses: The fruit of Rollinia is so good, its eaten fresh, or chilled. There is no need to mix it with anything else.

Pollination requirements: Self – Pollinating. The flowers of the Rollinia appear in spring and summer, along all the new seasons growth.
Harvest time The Rollinia plant starts to fruit after 2 years. The Harvest season is March, April and May. The fruit ripens quickly. Rollinia fruit can be picked when the green fruit start to change to a yellow color. They will continue to ripen once picked. Fully ripe fruit can be stored as a whole fruit in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. They retain their flavor and are nice to eat when they are chilled.
