Fruit description: The White Apple Lilly Pilly produces apple shaped edible white fruits 8cm long and 6cm wide, with a crisp texture, mild flavour and 1 large seed in the middle. Cassowaries enjoy this fruit when it falls to the ground. Turtles, flying foxes and other birds enjoy the fruit too.
Flowers: The flowers are white, fluffy, occurring in dense clusters.
Growing conditions: This is a handsome hardy medium sized tree with papery orange brown bark, pretty white flowers and large white fruit. It grows to about 8 metres high, 4 metres wide. It is evergreen with large leathery leaves. It makes a good shade tree, irregular hedge tree or windbreak. It likes subtropical or tropical coastal conditions, full sun, well-drained soil. It can resist salt and withstand strong winds even cyclones.
