Description
The Grafted Haitian Star Apple fruit is round, smooth skinned, and glossy, from 5 to 8cm wide. It turns from green to dark purple when ripe. Cut the fruit in half to reveal a pointed star shape around the seeds, this star gives the fruit its name. The flesh is white with purple colouring, with 1 or 2 small shiny brown seeds. It tastes sweet like succulent jelly. The skin is 4mm thick, and is not eaten as it has an astringent latex, which is unpleasant on your mouth.
