Fruit description: The fruit grows slowly over several months. It is round, about 100 mm long with a pointed end. The fruit turns from green to yellow when ripe. The pulp inside is pinkish brown, soft and sweet. There is one or two large brown seeds inside
Flowers: The flowers grow in small groups from the leafless branches, they are pink-white.
Growing conditions: The Green Sapote requires very well-drained soil. It likes full sun and plenty of water. It can tolerate some cold weather. The leaves are 10- 25cm long, and covered in hairs. The tree grows upright and bushy, to 8 metres in height.
Uses: Enjoy your Green Sapote fruit fresh or use it in desserts or preserves. The seeds can be roasted and eaten.

Harvest time You can pick the fruit in Autumn, before it ripens as it will continue to ripen off the tree.
