Fruit description: Cairns Satinash Lilly Pilly produces creamy white edible 45 mm oval berries on its trunk and main branches.
Flowers: The flowers are white, fluffy, occurring in dense clusters on the trunk or the main branches, or both trunk and branches most of the year and especially July, August and September.
Growing conditions: This is a beautiful feature plant with gorgeous coppery pink new growth, pretty white flowers and white berries. It grows well in a pot and doesn't need shaping as it is naturally compact and shapely. It grows to 10 metres high, 5 metres wide. It is evergreen with glossy foliage. It makes a beautiful hedge or screen. It likes mild coastal, subtropical or tropical conditions, full sun, a rich moist well-drained soil, enriched with organic material. It grows slowly. It can tolerate light frost. The trees which flower on the trunk have a bumpy trunk. These trees don't grow quite as tall as those which flower on the branches.
Uses: Use the foliage in floral arrangements.
