Fruit description: Powderpuff Lilly Pilly produces oval white berries 20mm across, occurring in dense clusters. Each contains a small seed. The fruit is sweet and crisp and tastes like a rose.
Flowers: The spectacular flowers are big fluffy magenta pompoms produced in dense clusters on the ends of the branches, from Spring to Summer
Growing conditions: This beautiful evergreen shrub grows to 1.5 metres. It has dense foliage of small glossy pointed leaves. The new growth is a very attractive as the soft leaves hang down and are a soft pink colour. It makes a stunning feature in the garden, courtyard or in a pot, or grow it as a beautiful hedge. The Powderpuff Lilly Pilly likes moist, well-drained soil in shade or part sun. It is quite hardy once established and can tolerate most soil types. Keep it well mulched and give it compost and fertiliser frequently to encourage the lovely new pink growth. It responds well to tip pruning to increase flower production.
