Description
The Longan fruit hangs in clusters. When ripe the fruit has a dull yellow, thin shell-like skin – easy to remove by hand. The fruit when peeled looks like an eyeball hence the name Dragon’s Eye. Each fruit is about 3cm in diameter. It contains a small shiny round hard inedible seed. The white semi-transparent flesh is very sweet, very juicy and quite delicious. The flavour is similar to a lychee but musky. The aroma is sweet and pleasant.
