Fruit description: The Native Guava fruit is a small yellow green edible berry, about 2cm long, which is aromatic, sweet and pleasant to eat.
Flowers: The flowers are pale pink or white and appear in Spring in clusters.
Growing conditions: This is a fast growing dense shrub which grows to about 6 metres tall. It makes an excellent screen, hedge or windbreak. The oval leaves are very glossy, about 20cm long. They have a sweet fruity aroma and give off sticky oil when crushed. The tree is quite hardy and tolerates most soils. It prefers a tropical or subtropical climate, moist and sheltered conditions.
Uses: Eat the berries fresh.
