Fruit description: Orange Berry is also called Pink Lime it has berries that are round 20mm in size, green fruit turning pale pink-orange when ripe. They are juicy, with a sweet honey flavour. Each contains one inedible seed. They are one of the nicest Native Bushfoods to eat.
Flowers: The flowers are tiny, pretty white, star-shaped with 5 petals. They are very fragrant.
Growing conditions: Orange Berry is an attractive evergreen spreading shrub, about 3 metres tall, with shiny aromatic leaves. Plant it in full or part sunshine. It likes most well-drained soil types, can tolerate wind and coastal conditions.
Uses: Eat the Orange Berry fruit straight off the bush or make it into a delicious jam.
