Fruit description: Rose Apple fruit are oval, a dull yellow when ripe, about the size of a plum. They have an aromatic rose perfumed crisp fruit, with one inedible seed which is loose in the fruit.

Growing conditions: The Rose Apple is a pretty garden plant with colourful new leaves, delicious fruit and attractive flowers. It is an evergreen tree that likes a warm, subtropical, or tropical climate. The tree is bushy, grows to 6 metres high. Plant it in well-drained moist soil in full or part sunshine. The leaves are elongated, glossy green, the new foliage pretty copper pink. It can tolerate wind and some frost. It makes an excellent windbreak for your orchard or garden and provides good shade.
Uses: Eat Rose Apple fruit fresh, or use in summer fruit salads to give a crisp texture and a rose flavour.
