Fruit description:
Flowers: The flowers are white, produced in bunches in autumn on tall stems.
Growing conditions: Tarragon is a soft perennial herb that dies down at the end of Autumn and reappears in Spring. It is easy to grow. It loves a warm sunny position in light, well-drained rich soil. Mulch around the plant in Summer and protect it from excessive rain in Winter. It will grow in any climate except a hot tropical climate. It has erect branching stems, and glossy dark pointed leaves. It grows well in a pot.
Uses: Tarragon has a subtle aniseed aroma and flavour. It is perfect with chicken. Put it into casseroles, inside a roasting chicken, in soups, with vegetables such as leeks, with fish. It is best added also at the end of cooking for its delicious fresh flavour. Tarragon is used to make Bernaise sauce. You can keep tarragon for use in Winter by using it to flavour vinegar or butter which is then frozen.

Harvest time Use the fresh Tarragon leaves in Spring, Summer and early Autumn as required. They can be dried.
