Plant origin: Southern Mexico and Central America.
Fruit description: Yellow Sapote are up to 16cm long with a point on the bottom, with one large inedible seed in each fruit. They are usually eaten fresh, having a sweet rich apricot-cheescake flavor. They ripen to a dull yellow color.
Flowers: Small browny-white flowers occur on stems of the last 3 seasons growth.
Growing conditions: Yellow Sapote are easy to grow, forming a nice large bush, with plentiful fruit. They can tolerate light frost, to warm subtropical and tropical climates.
Uses: Eat yellow sapote fresh, or make into cakes, smoothies, or exotic desserts.

Harvest time Harvest in Spring and summer, when a dull yellow color, the fruit can continue to ripen and soften at room temperature.
